Max became Australia's youngest Black Belt National Champion at the AFBJJ Nationals 2017.

Max became Australia's youngest Black Belt National Champion at the AFBJJ Nationals 2017.

 

Max is a Black belt under his father Peter de Been who is a 4th degree Black Belt under Carlos Gracie Jr.

Born in 1996, Max entered his first Jiu Jitsu competition in 2000. He has been Pan Pacific Champion more than 10 times as well as third in the World Blue Belt in 2012. He has won numerous titles and is believed to be Australia's best chance to be the first Black Belt World Champion.
Max is a great instructor in all of his classes and is a big hit when he travels for seminars.
